HomeWho We AreWhat We DoHow To HelpContact

Working Gear relies on the generous support of individuals and the business community for both clothing and funding. We receive no government funds. If you have new or lightly used men’s clothing or footwear that are no longer needed please Contact Working Gear now.
A recent Goldman Sachs report confirms that increasing the income of those on lower wages has a proportionately larger stimulating effect on the economy than increasing the income of those on high incomes. Low–earners tend to spend more of their increased income than those on much higher incomes, because those on low-incomes have more essential spending needs to be met by any income increases.
Every year Working Gear helps hundreds of men find work appropriate clothing. Continued funding and donations of clothing and footwear are essential to continue and expand our services. Your donations help men return to work and re-build their self esteem.

You can make a difference in the life of an unemployed man. There are numerous ways for you to get involved, see below for more details, or click HERE to contact us now.

  • Financial Donations
Working Gear is a registered charity and provides tax receipts for cash donations. Working Gear functions with a very modest overhead. Almost all of our donations go directly to program delivery. Every $50 you send can provide funding for steel toed boots, a high demand “must have” item for men seeking a job in a construction related trade.

  • Clothing Donations
Working Gear accepts current, clean clothing and accessories that are acceptable for the workplace and will enhance the confidence of our clients. We are also grateful for unopened toiletries which we distribute to our clients. In respect for our volunteer's time and our client's needs, we cannot accept items in need of repair or cleaning.

We gratefully accept the following items of men's clothing:

Construction related trades:
  • Steel toed work boots
  • Work overalls
  • Rain gear
  • Work gloves
  • Tool belts
  • Hard hars and goggles
  • Warm outerwear
Office attire:
  • Business suits and sport jackets
  • Slacks and pants
  • Business shoes and belts
  • Dress
