Working Gear has a very diverse volunteer Board of Directors dedicated to ensuring this organization is a success.

  • Stephen Flynn
Stephen is a Program Manager for Family Services of Greater Vancouver and supervises the operations of the Vancouver Downtown Employment Resource Centre. He attended Carleton University and the University of Ottawa. Before working in employment services, he worked in international development and in legal services. Stephen previously sat on the Board of YouthQuest! and several other local non-profit associations. He walks to work and believes that cars are killing the planet.

  • Paul Zelinski
Paul Zelinski brings a wealth of knowledge from a variety of employment experiences within the employment sector. Paul has an educational background as a clinical counsellor, with specializations in employment and rehabilitation counselling. With work experience from government, non-profit and private companies, and insurance corporations, Paul's knowledge, flexibility and creativity contributes to his ongoing effectiveness in employment and community economic development.

  • Carol Madsen
Carol holds a MSc in Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University's Graduate School of Business along with a BSW (McGill) and a BA in International Development Studies (U of T). She is the Manager of Pathways Information Centre on the corner of Main and Hastings, her prior positions have included the Directorship of Bridging the Divides - a rural BC Participatory action research community economic development project (2004-2006); the BC Regional representative for CEDTAP (2001-2004), work with the Montreal Community Loan Association, Canada World Youth, and several community-based, CED and International development agencies and boards. She has been teaching at Simon Fraser University's Sustainable Community Development program for 5 years and has taught at Concordia's School of Community Public Affairs and UBC's School of Social Work. Carol speaks French and English as well as 3 other languages and is the mother of two daughters.

  • Frank Kusmer
Frank brings extensive planning and program management skills to the board, and currently works in the insurance industry. He has BBA from Simon Fraser University and previously worked in financial planning. He has previously volunteered with The Union Gospel Mission, Unicef and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. He believes in the importance of recognizing men's issues and taking steps to make a difference.
